Editorial methodology
Where the data comes from, how we check it and why a flight does or does not appear in the comparison.
Selected flights, full review: 30 October 2026 · catalogue prices: 30 October 2026 · review log
Data source
The source is each public GetYourGuide listing in the Tenerife paragliding category. On 8 October 2026 we identified 33 distinct listings; we discarded one because the flight is in Gran Canaria and kept 32. For each we read the visible text (duration, languages, itinerary, included and not included, who it is not suitable for, important information and provider) and the page’s structured data (name, average rating, number of reviews and “from” price).
Included and not included items are told apart using the listing’s markup, not the wording, to avoid confusing an extra with something already in the price.
What we check and what we do not
We do check
- The public text of each GetYourGuide listing: what is included, pickup, limits, duration and languages.
- The “from” price, rating and number of reviews the listing shows on the review date.
- That every link goes to the right listing in the page’s language.
- The rules we cite, in the relevant official gazette.
We do not check
- We have not flown with the operators or visited the take-offs: there is no first-hand experience behind the comparison.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or equipment beyond what each listing publishes.
- We do not contact operators to confirm details a listing leaves out.
- We do not see prices by date or availability: only GetYourGuide shows that when you book.
What we do not do with the data
- We do not fill gaps. If a listing does not publish air time, take-off altitude or maximum weight, it shows as “Not published”.
- We do not trust the title. Several titles say “Santa Cruz de Tenerife” or “Los Gigantes” while the flight is in Adeje; we use the meeting point and itinerary.
- We present nothing as “live”. Prices, ratings and conditions are a dated snapshot; what applies is on GetYourGuide.
- We do not turn conditions into promises. We do not guarantee minutes, landings, routes, free cancellation or that a flight suits everyone.
- We do not copy listing text. Titles and summaries in the comparison are our own.
How we choose flights
The comparison shows 14 of the 32 listings. We aim for at least one good example of each real area and type of flight, and within each group we prioritise:
- Enough information to compare (take-off, minutes, pickup, limits).
- Average rating and number of reviews on GetYourGuide.
- That it adds something different (price, height, duration, included photos).
We exclude listings with an average rating below 3 out of 5. A listing with fewer than 10 reviews only gets in if it offers something no other flight does (today, the sunset flight). Commission plays no part in selection or order.
Regulations and official sources
When we discuss rules (Teide National Park, active tourism, airspace) we cite the provision published in the BOC or BOE, or the competent body’s website, with its date. If we cannot find an official source, we say so.
Reviews and corrections
The schedule we commit to:
- Every two months: “from” price, rating and number of reviews for all 32 catalogue listings.
- Every three months: full re-read of the 14 selected flights (what is included, pickup, limits, duration) and a search for new listings in the category.
- When you tell us: we check the detail on the GetYourGuide listing or the official source; if it is wrong, we fix it on every page and language where it appears and record the date.
The date on each page is that of the last real check, not today’s. To report an error, use the contact page.
Review log
- 8 October 2026: first full read of the 32 listings and launch.
- 30 October 2026: prices, ratings and reviews for all 32 listings; full re-read of the 14 selected flights. Three prices and the published duration of one northern flight changed; fixed on every page.
- 30 October 2026: Teide National Park rules re-read in the official BOC text.
Photos: sources and licences
We do not have our own paragliding photos yet. We use Wikimedia Commons photos taken in Tenerife, under licences that allow reuse with attribution, and we do not use generated images or photos from other islands.
