Take-offs in the Teide area: the National Park management plan approved in December 2025 treats the take-off or landing of any aircraft inside the park as incompatible. Some listings still advertise take-off at Izaña or in the National Park, with an alternative site if that is not possible. Before booking, ask the operator where flights take off today. What the rules say.

How to choose

Four questions before you book

01

Where are you staying?

Most flights are in the south, with hotel pickup from Los Cristianos to Playa Paraíso. In the north you usually meet in Puerto de la Cruz, without hotel pickup.

02

How long do you want to fly?

A standard tandem flight is 15–20 minutes in the air. For more, look for “long duration” or a higher take-off such as Ifonche. No operator guarantees the minutes.

03

Do you want photos and video?

Some include a few photos; others charge for the pack (€25–85 depending on the listing). Add it before comparing prices.

04

Do you meet the limits?

Maximum weight from 90 to 120 kg and minimum age from 3 to 13, depending on the flight. Also check for weight surcharges.

Flying areas

Two real areas, not ten

Although some listing titles say “Santa Cruz” or “Los Gigantes”, the flights we reviewed take off from the hillsides of Adeje or in the north. The wind decides the take-off site on the day.

South · Adeje

Most flights. A van takes you up the hillside and, wind permitting, you land on the Costa Adeje coast.

North · Puerto de la Cruz

Fewer flights and stricter requirements. A short flight over the Martiánez cliffs; some listings also advertise take-offs in the Teide area, now subject to the National Park rules.

How booking works

Compare here, book on GetYourGuide

We do not sell flights or handle bookings. We help you decide and send you to the official listing.

  1. You compare

Area, air time, pickup, photos and limits, with the date we checked them.

  2. You book on GetYourGuide

There you see real availability, the final price and the cancellation terms. Payment is made on GetYourGuide.

  3. The operator flies with you

They confirm the time and meeting point. If the wind is not right, the pilot decides: change of take-off, new time or cancellation.

Common questions

What people ask before flying

Short answers based on the listings. For wind, pilots and regulations, see the safety guide.

Pilots lay out their colourful wings on a slope in the La Orotava highlands, with the sea and clouds behind
How much does a paragliding flight in Tenerife cost?

Across the 32 Tenerife activities we reviewed on GetYourGuide, the “from” price per person ranges from €89 to €210 (checked on 30 October 2026). A standard tandem flight in the south costs around €100–130; northern flights and experiences with photos or at sunset cost more. The final price depends on the date, the option and any extras.

How long is the flight?

Separate the flight from the activity. Paragliding listings that publish it give 10 to 35 minutes in the air, depending on the type of flight and the wind (one motorised paratrike tour lasts about an hour); several operators state that air time is not guaranteed. The whole activity, with pickup, the drive to take-off and the return, takes 1 to 3 hours.

Is there an age or weight limit?

Yes, and it varies by activity: in the listings we reviewed, the maximum weight ranges from 90 to 120 kg and the minimum age from 3 to 13. One northern operator charges a surcharge above 85 kg. Check each flight’s limits in the comparison and the requirements guide.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The pilot or operator decides, not the calendar: if the wind is not suitable they may change the take-off site, move the time or day, or cancel. Change and refund terms are those of your booking on GetYourGuide: read them before you pay.

Do I need any experience?

No. Every flight on this site is a tandem flight: you are strapped in front of a pilot who does the flying. You are asked to follow the briefing and, at most take-off sites, to walk or run a few metres when you launch.
